For winter 2012, Kent House Knightsbridge will be celebrating the festive season in style and will be hosting a roaring 1920’s themed evening which promises to razzle dazzle ‘em!
Kent House Knightsbridge is heralded as one of the city’s hidden treasures. This historic townhouse is set in the heart of London’s prestigious Knightsbridge and provides a stunning setting for your entertaining.
This raucous decade’s reputation for a good time makes it a perfect theme for a party. Think gangsters, molls, jazz babies, and divine decadence. Hollywood, flappers, illicit gambling, prohibition, spats, cigarette holders, speakeasies, FBI, mobsters and real film stars. So get your feather boas and pinstripe suits out and dance the night away at the most stylish party you ever attended!
Our elegant and beautiful venue will be themed as a glamorous 1920’s styled evening, from the outside of the building lit with striking lighting effects to the glorious decorations and furnishings within. Inspired by Mr. Boston’s Bar Guide, guests will begin the evening in our elegant Marble Hall enjoying crisp champagne in saucers for the drinks reception where black and white silent movies, staring Hollywood greats, will run in the background and a singer and pianist will add to the atmosphere.
Guests will ascend the grand red carpeted staircase to the magnificent Sanctuary for dining and dancing. With its beautiful high ceilings and white walls, the Sanctuary will provide an elegant setting and the tables will be decorated with Silver candelabra, mirrors and t-lights bringing rich lavish touches to the evening. Warm and subdued crimson lighting hues and soft candlelight throughout the venue will further enhance the intimacy of this 1920’s theme.
The evening will continue with dancing after dinner on a sophisticated black and white dance floor with high tech disco lighting and a first rate DJ mixing up a superb array of music both from the past and current, including some ragtime and Dixieland-style jazz guaranteed to get all the guys and dolls dancing. We can supply a range of entertainment should you require that extra special something, such as Gangster mob run casino tables with croupiers in costume, stilt walking roaring 1920’s costumed artistes or look-a-likes from the period such as Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy to entertain your guests.
