Favela Chic is a celebration of Brazil and France and London, a rock ‘n’ roll circus that dances to a samba beat, located at the magical corner of the legendary Shoreditch crispy triangle!

Favela Chic takes it’s inspiration from the Favelas (Rio’s deprived shanty towns), which is then fused with the decadence of Parisian chic. The result is a creative mix which epitomizes the street vibe of a culture-rich glamorous city.

The high ceilings of an old bank (formerly the minimalist setting of Grand Central) have been transformed into a hive of recycled splashes of colour, reclaimed furniture, and madcap creativity that poke fun from every corner.

The ambience of ‘anything-goes’ is set to the tune of re-used regalia strung from the lofty ceiling. Think old lampshades, hula hoops and ribbons, and you'll be one step closer to seeing why the place screams colour and carnavale!

In our wonderful Brazilian-led kitchen, only the freshest produce and exotic flavours make it through the door. Our food like all things Favela - is a melange of the fine, the fantastic and the beautiful; our menu is a fresh and tasty hybrid of the best of Brazil and Fance with the flair of Mediterranean cooking styles.

Our executive chef Vagner Matos comes from the heart of Minas Gerais, Brazil’s distinctive and famous food region, and navigates between London and Paris.

He started out in London 14 years ago at Carluccio’s original eatery in Walton-on-Thames. During his stay in London he has cooked alongside heavyweights like Terence Conran, Gordon Ramsay and Gary Rhodes, and comes fresh from the opening of leading members’ club Shoreditch House.

Even though famous for our luscious Caipirinhas, our bar team are more then happy to make bespoke suggestions to suit your event!

We have a terrace for the lovely English weather which seats 30 people an can be in use until 10pm, after we cant unfortunately allow drinks, but can still be used as a shelter for smokers.

Music! That’s our specialty! We’ve spawned a host of crazy and fun nights with our incredible resident DJ group RADIO FAVELA headed up by Gringo Da Parada. We’ve also have had the likes of Joana and the Wolves, Florence and the Machine, DJ Marky, Zeep, Seu Jorge, Cibelle, DJ Sandrinho, Psaap and Kate Nash grace the stage for live shows, and taken part in festivals from Lovebox, Glastobury and Latitude to The Big Chill.
