Venue Description:
Now in its ninth decade, Bentley’s first opened its doors in 1916 in the same beautiful old Victorian building it occupies today. From the outset this famous oyster bar and grill, with its arts and crafts movement-inspired interior and Italian gothic façade, captured the vibrant mood of a metropolis about to embrace the roaring twenties.
Richard Corrigan became the owner 5 years ago and with his passion for earthy and uncluttered food, purity of ingredients and honest presentation has wooed critics and public alike at Bentley’s Seafood Restaurant & Grill.
Bentley’s combines a relaxed oyster bar with a more formal Grill restaurant, plus two private rooms, arranged over three floors.
The Crustacea Room is located on the first floor and has beautiful features, with warm colours, thick carpet and William Morris style Curtains. Seating up to 14 guests, it is perfect for any type of formal business lunch or dinner, or simply to celebrate a birthday in style.
The Jameson Room on the lower floor is available for exclusive hire. It has its own entrance, a fully stocked private bar (with a 3am licence), a reception area and toilet facilities, and so is ideal for private functions, receptions and parties. This room seats 15-28 guests on one oval table or up to 60 on individual round tables. Alternatively this room can accommodate up to 100 guests for a standing canapé reception.
The Jameson Room benefits from having a Piano in the lounge area and we can arrange pianists to suit any occasion for your event. There is a 42" plasma screen and DVD player for presentations, as well as a DJ point for any lively events. Live bands, magicians and DJ’s can be arranged for you and your guests and we are only too happy to listen to your suggestions and ideas in order to create the perfect party for you.
Days the whole venue can be booked for exclusive hire, what are the costs and min spends for each day?
We do not offer exclusive hire of the Oyster Bar or Grill, but our private rooms offer ideal dining spaces from 8- 60 guests on any day of the week. There is no minimum spend we simply ask for a minimum number of guests (8 in the Crustacea Room and 15 in the Jameson Room).
During January, February and August 2011, we are offering an all-inclusive Jameson Room package for parties of 15-60 people at only £75.00 pp, which includes canapés and a glass of Prosecco on arrival, 3 courses, half a bottle of wine, mineral water, tea or coffee and petit fours.
